Happy New Year! We had a great New Year's Eve night spending it with the kids. We watched all the TV specials, the bands, and listened to what sounded like a war zone outside our house. Fireworks in the city limits are legal here in Tampa, so it sounded like everyone decided to go out and get enough fire power to light up the Tampa skies.
Hayden was the first to pass out at 11:41pm. I was amazed that he even held on as long as he did. Riley did her best to stay up, but she was out four minutes later. Taylor stayed up, and stayed up, and continued to stay up, even after we were going bed.
We had fun staying in, it's been a while since we have gone out for New Years. Well, we did go out a couple of years ago while in San Marcos, TX. My mom and grandmother watched the kids while Greg and I hit up a bar on the square in downtown San Marcos. Being a college town, the place was filled with a bunch of 20 somethings. I felt like the grandma in the place.
Now it's back to school for the kids, back to a regular work schedule for Greg, and back to being a mom-chauffeur for me. I also decided to make some resolutions for 2011 as well. First, I'm going to try to write more on this blog. Second, I'm going to try to have more patience. And lastly, I'm going to finally clean and organize my craft room. The downstairs bedroom was supposed to be my craft room so I could do all my fun stuff with the kids. It's become a storage room or catchall room where we put things that we have no idea where they should go. I have lamps that I got at 80% off from Target, a desk, lots of crafting paraphernalia, a couple of bookcases, a baker's rack, TONS of books, file cabinets, and lots of boxes of stuff. Stuff...that pretty much sums it all up. It's a room full of just stuff. But hopefully, it will be a real craft room soon. One can hope!
I hope you had a wonderful New Year and your 2011 is the year for you!!
