The kids and I went to Texas this summer to visit the family. My mom and step-father just bought a new house, so we were able to spend some of our time there, and the rest of the time at my grandmother's house.
The new house is great, with three bedrooms and two bathrooms, plus a den. It's completely opposite of the little house I grew up in that was built 60+ years ago and didn't ever go through much of a renovation. I kept asking my mom why they waited until my brother, Roger, and I moved out before buying a new place. Gee...thanks, Mom!
Now that they moved out of their old house, they have put in a lot of work into renovating it. It's received a new exterior and interior paint job, new flooring, new appliances, new sliding doors, even new toilets. They are renting it out, and as time goes on, they'll continue to update it with new windows, new interior doors, and a lot more.
Of course, with all the talk of the new house, and the old one, I forgot to take photos. But I did get some of the family at my grandmother's house. Roger came over the night before we left. The kids were jumping, or I should say hanging, all over him.
