The Sickies

I can pretty much guarantee that someone is sick in this house at any given time. Last month, Taylor had a serious cough as did Hayden. I tried my best to keep clear of the flying germs that came close to me, but try as I might, I ended up with some icky microbes. I figure that Hayden got ahold of my homemade caramel coffee that I love to make in the morning and decided to spread the germ love. Unfortunately, I ended up with a horrible case of strep throat and a massive ear infection. Thanks to some pink stuff in a bottle (my antibiotics), I'm doing well now, but Hayden skipped the strep and went to a nasty cold.

I told Riley (my only healthy child) to steer clear of anything Hayden touched, but alas, she saw a drink with a straw and just HAD to have a sip. Imagine me screaming "NOOOOOOOOO!!!!" and jumping across a coffee table and the couch in slow motion to grab the drink out of her hands while her innocent little face starts to look up at me. Too late! Now I'm having to follow both Riley and Hayden with a box of tissues, especially after every sneeze. WOW! I didn't know their little noses could hold so much volume.

Poor Hayden has a red rash on his left cheek from the constant wiping he's doing, well, wiping his nose on his shirt sleeve. It reminds me of my little brother during the winter while in kindergarten. He had little button up sweater he would wear everyday to school. My mom had to wash it EVERYDAY because he used the sleeves as his personal kleenex.

Even though the kids have the ickies, they still seem to have enough energy to power up a small city. While I was trying to sleep off my strep throat, these kids are running around the backyard, playing with the train set, and trying to stay up late. Riley even stopped to pose so I could take her photo, and then she kept on posing, and posing and posing. What a diva! Hopefully they'll be back to a healthy status soon.
