The Valentine Goodie Bags

You saw from my earlier post here that we made melted crayon hearts for the girls' classes. Along with the crayons, Taylor made bookmarks and Riley made her own cards using products from Stampin' Up. Riley's cards could be used as bookmarks as well, but I'm guessing not too many of the kids in her preschool class are into the classics just yet. Well, I hope not, or else Riley is severely behind.

We started out with white cardstock and cut it down to the size we needed. Then we stamped the image we wanted onto the cardstock.

Once we stamped all the pieces, we colored in the stamped images using Stampin' Up markers. I'm very particular when it comes to my markers, since they were not cheap. I have had them for years and want them to last even longer. So that meant that I ended up coloring in all the images. I think my carpal tunnel kicked in on my third piece....only 43 more to go!

Once they were colored, I cut the red cardstock a bit bigger than the white cardstock and then used adhesive to glue the two pieces together.

Next was the ribbon. I cut about 5-6 inches worth per piece. Then I hole punched the top of the bookmark and tied the ribbon through the hole.

Taylor had the very important job of signing her name on the back of each and every bookmark. I think her carpal tunnel kicked in by the second piece. Eek!!

Riley's piece was much simpler. It consisted of pink cardstock with a stamped image glued onto a piece of red cardstock. She signed her name on the back of her cards as well. However, with 28 signatures needed, she decided to get creative. Her Y's became lollipops because in her words, they were much cuter than the letter Y. Well, she is sort of right!

The ending piece was stuffing the crayon and card/bookmark into a cellophane bag, adding a topper with a stamped image, and that was it. Easy peasy! The kids enjoyed it, I finished it in an afternoon, and from what I hear, their classmates enjoyed them.
