The Grandmas Are Visiting

We just finished up a great visit with my mom and grandma. This grandma is actually my father's mother, which makes her my mom's first mother-in-law. I know you have heard all the mother-in-law horror stories, but they are quite the opposite. Most times I think they are either attached at the hip, or are possibly thinking about surgery to do it.

They took the girls for a little shopping trip to the mall and then out to dinner. I remember doing that with my mom and grandma when I was their age. We would always head to Scarborough's or Dillard's, and then have lunch at Red Lobster. I always got the exact same thing: popcorn shrimp with a baked potato and a Shirley Temple to drink. Those things were delish! Instead, my kids go for grilled cheese and milk. At least they are making better strides with healthy eating at home.

Since the weather was great, what better than to take some photos in their new outfits. The girls were overjoyed with their new twisty skirts, but Hayden isn't one for being fashion forward. He was happy with his new shark shirt, but honestly, all he cares about is playing with his dirt. Kind of like his dad! Of course, as in typical Belkin kid fashion, it takes several dozen shots before I get one good one. Hayden kept sticking out his tongue, Taylor was playing with Grandma Rita's hair, but at least Riley kept looking forward. I think it's that diva quality about her.

It takes nearly 50 snapshots to get at least one good one!
Finally! A good one!
