I seem to be jinxed when it comes to my new computer. When I got my computer from Geek Squad after they did their optimization something or other, I couldn't even get it started. A not so nice agent told me I must have done something to it. I couldn't understand how she figured that since I couldn't even use the thing, but it was finally fixed. Then in December, I ended up with several viruses, only to keep getting them after Geek Squad had supposedly deleted them. It took me downloading Malware Bytes to get rid of the viruses. Thanks Geek Squad! Oh, wait, I fixed it. Nevermind!
Then this past month, I tripped and dropped my computer on the rug, but underneath was the hard tile floor. That really did it in. Unfortunately, I couldn't blame Geek Squad on that one. After a month with the Geek Agents, I finally got my computer back, just minus a few folders of photos. Lesson learned: ALWAYS BACK UP YOUR PHOTOS AND DOCUMENTS AS SOON AS YOU PUT THEM ON YOUR COMPUTER!
Luckily, it was only a month worth of photos and nothing too terribly important. Still, it was a bit heartbreaking. Since I have full protection on my laptop, everything was free, including the new hard drive.
As it turned out, in typical Geek Squad fashion, I got my computer back, plus a few viruses. I immediately downloaded Malware Bytes and got to work removing them. I'm just glad to have this thing back. I didn't go into withdrawals or anything like that, but my email inbox got a bit out of hand. Hopefully now I can get back to this blog and posting some photos of the kids over the last month. The normal fun stuff.
