Two weeks ago, the kindergarteners from Taylor's school has a field trip to Jamestown Settlement up in Williamsburg. Since there are only 2 kindergarten classes at her school, it was a small group to handle and the kids were quite well behaved. I was able to chaperone for her classroom with about 6 other moms.
When we arrived at Jamestown, our docent took the children aside and talked to them about the rules they would need to observe while in the park.
Docent: So what are some rules we should follow here?
Child #1: No running.
Docent: Good, good. What else?
Child #2: No kicking.
Docent: Ok, what else?
Child #3: No hitting.
Docent: Yes, we shouldn't do that, what else?
Child #4: Don't smack anyone.
Docent: Ok, we definitely don't want to smack anyone. Anybody else?
At this point, us moms were thinking...hmmm....
Child #5: Don't look for dynamite to blow up the buildings.
Docent: I think we have established that we should just keep our hands to ourselves. Let's move on!
By this point, we were ready to get on the move with our tour. We started out touring the indian village and then on to the fort. It was a great tour and we learned quite a bit. I was so glad that I was able to enjoy the trip with Taylor as it's not often that I'm able to get out with the other two at home.
Enjoy the photos.
