The Cake Ladies

For Taylor's birthday party, I ordered a cake from The Cake Ladies in Yorktown. I had always heard such wonderful reviews about the company and decided that I would check them out. Because Taylor's theme was a garden theme, they did a beautiful cake trimmed with trees, a pond, and greenery. There were ladybugs and butterflies, frogs on lilypads, and little bugs crawling around. The taste was amazing, a marble cake with the best yummy icing. The photos don't even do the cake justice, and it was heartbreaking to actually have to cut it up. Kids kept asking for different bugs on their pieces, and Taylor, of course, ended up having TWO pieces. No wonder she stayed up until midnight!!

By the way, there's a funny story attached to The Cake Ladies. On a Friday, I took Taylor with me to go see the owners about her cake. So I told Greg I was going to see The Cake Ladies. On Monday, I had to go back to show them what I wanted on the cake, so back I went to see the Cake Ladies, but their store was closed. So on Tuesday, I told Greg I was going to see The Cake Ladies again, but by the time I got there, they had closed early. So on Wednesday, I told him I was going to see The Cake Ladies again. He finally asked....Is Cake Ladies code for something?? You've gone everyday for the past 4 days and you haven't accomplished anything. Haha!! Poor Greg. Anyway, I finally got to see them on Wednesday and finish the cake order. What do you think of the cake?? If your click on the photo, it comes up larger in another page.
